EFSP Announcement - Federal funds, awarded through the Department of Homeland Security, available for Coos County Emergency Food and Shelter Programs - $27,776 available for Coos County

Coos County, OR. April 8, 2024 - Public or private 501(c)3 nonprofit volunteer agencies interested in applying for Emergency Food and Shelter Program Phase 41 funds for Coos County must apply by 5pm Monday, April 22, 2024. The Phase 41 allocation for Coos County is $27,776.

Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must:  

1)     be private voluntary non-profits or units of the government;
2)     be eligible to receive Federal funds;
3)     have an accounting system;
4)     practice nondiscrimination;
5)     have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs;
6)     if they are a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board.

Qualifying agencies are urged to apply. Individuals cannot apply for this funding. Emergency Preparedness programs/projects are not eligible for funding.

Agencies interested in applying for funding in Phase 41 should complete the online request form accessible here or via paper (email info @ unitedwayswo.org or call 541-267-5202 to request a paper copy; paper copies must be typed; electronic submission is preferred).

Please note that the EFSP funding program now requires ALL agencies receiving awards to have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). DUNS numbers are no longer accepted. Please visit sam.gov to request your agency’s UEI number.

 Applications must be submitted online, or paper copies received, by 5pm Monday, April 22, 2024.
