every child coos
In 2020, United Way of Southwestern Oregon became the backbone organization for two local Every Child initiatives in Coos and Curry Counties. Every Child is a community mobilization initiative providing love, care and support to youth in care, resource (foster) parents, families of origin, and kinship families in partnership with Oregon’s Department of Human Services.

Current My NeighbOR needs for Coos County youth in care can be found here. To submit or request a need, click here.
Every Child programs and activities include assembling welcome boxes and launch boxes for foster youth entering and exiting the foster system, volunteer recruitment to support our foster care community, and hospitality services for ODHS-Child Welfare staff. In response to COVID-19, Every Child also launched My NeighbOR, a community response effort enabling families to submit needs, and the community to donate toward meeting these needs, in real time.
United Way of Southwestern Oregon, Every Child Coos, and Every Child Curry are part of a larger partnership working collaboratively on programs and activities to support Coos and Curry County youth in care, resource families, families of origin, and ODHS staff. For more information about this partnership – the Foster Coalition of Coos & Curry (“FC3”), which also includes CASA of Coos and Curry, the Coos County Foster Parent Association, and ODHS-Child Welfare – for more information, please Contact Us or ask to join the FC3 Facebook group.
