May 11, 2022 – oregon community grants program, youth summer program update

Oregon Community Summer Grant Program – Dawn Granger, SCESD (dawng@scesd.k12.or.us)
https://www.oaesd.org/summer-grant-program/
Insurance requirements are high for this round of funding. Named on insurance must be applicant’s name – partners are fine but one group must receive funds and have all necessary insurance.
Reporting is also required this year, unlike last year.
Designed for summer activities. Partnerships would be great to alleviate the insurance burden. A variety of opportunities are available – arts, sports, enhancing academic achievement, etc.
SCESD will coach applicants through the application.
SCESD is providing feedback to the State (esp regarding the hefty insurance requirement).
Salaries, materials, food, transportation costs are all covered. Capital projects do not qualify – can’t buy a van, but you could rent one!
Rolling application process, recommend getting applications in by June 15.
Spending dates are April 4-September 30, 2022. Final 10% is awarded after final report is completed.
