  • Diverse group of community members wanting to address inequity isues in Coos and Curry Counties

  • Goals: Advocacy and amplifying voices, providing community education, identifying equity gaps

  • SCEC has applied for Regional Health Equity Coalition state funding (TBA after July 1)

  • RHECs:

    • Collaborative, community-led, cross-sector groups organized regionally to identify and address health equity issues

    • Focused on systems level work, specifically addressing racism

    • Priority populations: Communities of color, Oregon’s nine federally recognized Tribes, Immigrants and refugees, Migrant and Seasonal farmworkers, Low-income populations, People with disabilities, LGBTQIA2S+ communities

    • Include staff position(s) to support work

    • Includes focus on policy advocacy

    • Received additional COVID test kits, also have thermometers, blood pressure kits, face shields/n95 masks and other PPE - contact Erlette if you have needs

    • Limited funds available for those who have COVID or have had COVID - mortgage/utility assistance

    • Still have funds to assist isolated/quarantined folks with grocery shopping, other needs
