Brooklyn (Boys & Girls Club) - March madness! Gym open Friday evenings in March, volleyball and basketball tournaments. Membership not required.
Kara Long (Coos Health & Wellness) - free family films, monthly at the Egyptian, with handouts, resources, raffle prizes. Movies have Spanish subtitles. Purpose is promoting family bonding and resources, primarily for tweens/teens. Also have Saturday cartoons for littles.
Lualhati Anderson (OABHI) - Elderspeak virtual training (“Don’t Call Me Sweetie”) Feb 23 @ 11 am - 12 pm. OPAL pilot project now available in group format. Older adult consumers, live health promotion presentations (in person or virtual) every 4th Monday @ 2pm @ North Bend Library. Feb 27 presenter is Stephanie Polizzi and includes a resource table.
Doreen Kelly (South Coast Hospice) - volunteer training to address social isolation and respite. Suggested activities include gardening, reading books, providing respite for caregivers. Trainings will be Feb 22 and 23, for more info contact Doreen Kelly <d.kelly@schospice.org>.
