Jen Shafer - ALICE demo (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) - earning more than the Federal Poverty Level, but not enough to afford the basics
(https://www.unitedforalice.org/state-overview/Oregon)
ALICE collects household data for Oregon and makes it available by County, Zip code, Census Designated Place, and County Subdivision
ALICE data can be filtered by race /ethnicity, household composition (families with children, single households) and age of householder
Other breakdowns including the household budgets include maps, demographics, labor force, and well being
ALICE is an easy to use website with many interactive links, maps, and graphs to obtain data useful for in grant writing, marketing materials, program creation, etc.
Run by local representatives and from Oregon as a whole. Very trusted public data
Partner states available but not all of the states participate
2021 data - 12% earned below the FPL / 32% were ALICE / Together 44% of households in OR were below the ALICE Threshold / Single Female - Headed households are struggling
Coos & Curry families of 4 would need to earn $70,000 a year to be above the ALICE threshold and the increase in food prices are now almost equal to childcare and housing.
