Williams Supports Coats & Shoes for Kids Program

William’s Pacific Connector Community Grant Program announced today that United Way of Southwestern Oregon’s application has been selected to receive funding in the amount of $1,500.00 for 2016-17 Kid’s Coats & Shoes Program. William’s receives dozens of applications, and reviews each to determine those proposals that best fit their criteria. Williams http://co.williams.com/  joins The Campbell Group, and NW Natural as major supporters for 2016-17.

United Way’s Coats and Shoes for Kid’s Program is a semi-annual event that provides new coats and shoes for needy children in both Coos and Curry counties. Many children in both counties live in poverty. Children go to school in shoes held together by duct table and wearing adult sweatshirts because their families do not or cannot provide the basic needs of these children. Now in its 8th year, United Way officials estimate over 1000 children have been helped through this program. Our fall our event will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 during our Annual Campaign. Those interested in contributing to this program can donate through our website or mail-in a donation to: UWSWO Coats & Shoes for Kids, PO Box 1288, Coos Bay, OR  97420.
