United Way of Southwestern Oregon (UWSWO) is seeking qualified candidates to fill vacancies on its 24 member volunteer Board of Directors. Directors represent local businesses, employee groups, government agencies, and community members at large.

Directors are elected for a 3-yr term of office and serve on a variety of service related committees. Board meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at a no-host lunch. Board activities include conducting an annual community impact survey in the fall of each year to determine current community needs and priorities; find agencies meeting those needs; conducting an annual fundraising campaign from September through November; designate grants to agencies after the campaign and special events and community projects such as the Annual Day of Caring in April and the New Coats & Shoes program for needy kids grade K-4.
