COVID-19: Nonprofit and community organizations providing services in Coos County or Curry County, Oregon who need assistance due to conditions caused directly by the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible for an Emergency Relief award (up to $1,500) from United Way of Southwestern Oregon. Applications are due on the 10th of the month @ 5pm. Our monthly application process will remain open until COVID-19 emergency relief funds are expended. Priority will be given to organizations providing services in the areas of health, education, and financial stability. Please note that United Way of Southwestern Oregon does not award emergency relief funding to individuals, private businesses/practices, political advocacy/lobbying organizations, or organizations requesting funding for religious purposes.

2020 OREGON WILDFIRES: Nonprofit and community organizations in Coos County and Curry County who are assisting residents displaced by the 2020 wildfires are invited to Contact Us to share any emerging needs.

Emergency Relief

COVID-19: Grant awards support Coos County and Curry County nonprofit organizations needing assistance due to conditions caused directly by the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, we have distributed $170,000 to local organizations including those providing food/meals; hospice care; mental health services; services for youth, domestic violence survivors, and child abuse prevention; services for persons with disabilities and persons experiencing homelessness; and residents in need of financial aid assistance. A summary of awards granted to date can be found below.

To donate to our Emergency Relief Fund, please click the PayPal link below, or mail a check to UWSWO, PO Box 1288, Coos Bay, OR 97420 (please include “covid-19” in the memo field). Your donation will be distributed to local community organizations most in need during this time. If you would like your donation to be put toward a specific county, please make a note of that on your contribution.
