United Way of Southwestern Oregon is proud to support local projects and groups who are not registered 501(c)(3) agencies, who are working toward a better community for residents of Coos and Curry Counties.
Every Child Coos and Every Child Curry: In 2020, United Way of Southwestern Oregon became the backbone organization for two local Every Child initiatives. Every Child is a community mobilization initiative providing love, care and support to foster youth, foster parents, and families of origin in partnership with Oregon’s Department of Human Services. Every Child programs and activities include assembling welcome boxes and launch boxes for foster youth entering and exiting the foster system, volunteer recruitment to support our foster care community, and hospitality services for ODHS-Child Welfare staff.

Additional fiscal sponsor partnerships include:
Southern Oregon Coast Pride: Southern Oregon Coast Pride exists to conduct events that foster hope and provide support for LGBTQIA+ youth and adults, educate about LGBTQIA+ issues and resources, and collaborate with allied individuals and community groups. A note from the organizers:
“After the success of Pride-in-the-Park in 2019, full leadership of the annual event has transitioned into the hands of local community members. We are gearing up for the 5th annual Pride Celebration on the Southern Oregon Coast, and are looking for support both financially and in terms of people-power. Follow our Facebook page for information on upcoming fundraisers, community education events, and other chances to get involved.
It is important to the Pride Steering Committee that we maintain the family-friendly environment from last year, and build upon that success by bringing in more vendors, entertainment, and community organizations. Offering a free community meal is also something which sets us apart, and is what we seek to maintain. If you would like to become more involved, please reach out to the committee at: email@example.com. We welcome your involvement!”

The group targets youth ages 13-24 and meets weekly. Donations to Q&A of Coos County support art supplies, snacks, and off-setting the costs of field trips.
